dear matt

hello matt! (a new stalker/follower of mine) it's nice to know that you read my blog and i do indeed appreciate your comments.

this is comes from matt. he commented on my "a big sigh" post;

"Long time reader, first time commenter. Love your thoughts here. Sometimes I think you might judge the stronger sex a little harshly, but I get it. Can you explain the difference between irony and coincidence? I here people conflate those terms often, and I'm hoping you can shed some light."

one question, don't we all bash on the opposite sex a little more than our own? (;
to answer your question or confusion, here you go.

explaining the difference between irony and coincidence:
irony: the use of words to convey a meaning that is the opposite of its literal meaning: the irony of her reply, “How nice!” when I said I had to work all weekend.
 and coincidence: anything that happens suddenly or by chance without an apparent cause; "winning the lottery was a happy accident"; "the pregnancy was a stroke of bad luck"; "it was due to an accident or fortuity"
