it's a daddy daughter thing...you wouldn't understand.

As some of you know, I work with my dad. We work for my brother in-law. But more like my brother.
Anyway, we work on foreclosed homes. We mow the lawn during the summer and shovel snow during winter time, also make sure the inside is clean during both seasons.
We went out yesterday and today.
I have learned to love working with my dad. Sometimes I get just a little excited to spend time with him. I learn so much from him and we have such an amazing friendship, I enjoy it very much. When I don't go with him to work, I feel terrible because it's tough work and I know he is doing it all by himself just so we can have extra money to play with. My DAD is MY, no doubt about it, HERO. He is so strong and an unbelievable hard worker. He can push himself and get things done. My dad IS the worlds greatest. be jealous.
Yesterday, as we were working, we kept laughing. It was a great day out on the job. I wrote down some a lot of things and to let you in on how hilarious my dad and I are, I will be posting them, right... now:

(background: i have always wanted to date a guy who owns a bullet bike in the summer and go on lots of drives with him on it... and my dad knows that.)
guy on bullet bike drives by-
me: dad, i am going to date a guy who owns a bullet bike!
dad: that won't make me or your mother very happy.
me: well...  (thinking of something real clever) what if he is a 50 year old man who has great experience with them and is really safe with me?"
dad: you are going to date a 50 year old man because he owns a bullet bike?
me: (thinking deeply about how i would feel with that...) uh, yeah!
dad: (right away) YOU GO FOR IT GIRL!!!

(background: when i mow, i listen to my ipod and sing. i sing real loud. like, at the top of my lungs sometimes.)
walking into the frontyard of a house, after mowing the backyard.
me: i am glad you weren't back there... or you would've heard me singing.
dad: oh! i heard. i heard ya. i was wondering if you were doing it on purpose.
i thought to myself, these poor neighbors. (:

(background: there isn't much on this one... as i was mowing, i felt a rash coming on. it is right below my armpit.) [dad has his sunglasses on and is blind.] {okay, maybe there was a lot of background on this one.}
me: dad? can you see a rash?
dad: (taking off his sunglasses and lightly setting them on his nose) oh, YEAH!
me: thought so...

(background: dad and i use google map papers to find the houses and sometimes, like once a day if we are unlucky, we get lost. today, we got lost. we are looking for hidden valley road)
(both of us are looking at the map, trying to figure out where to begin.)
dad: well, hidden valley drive is a dead end...
(looking at the map)
dad: OH! that's because we are looking at hidden valley drive instead of road... duh..
me: OH!
dad: (mimicking me) OH!
me: (mimicking dad mimicking me) OH!
(this went on for a little, ending it with both of us bursting into laughs.)
dad: see, we have good times!
me: i know! (saying it like monica from friends says it) and i am writing them all down!
dad smiles.

(background: dad always always always looses his keys)
dad: (searching frantically.) where are the keys? do you have the keys? do i have the keys? where are they? (feels his pocket) oh! i have the keys. (he gets OUT of the car GETS his keys and gets back in.) nerd.

(background: me and my dad play our stations and challenge the other to name the singer. a while ago, i challenged him to the song rolling in the deep by adele. he didn't get it, but i told him after he had guess __________) today:
rolling in the deep was on, i turned it up.
me: dad, two dollars if you guess who sings this!
dad: michael buble?
me: really?
dad: (really excited to answer) no, it's that one girl with that one name!!!

(background: there is a sign that looks like this. when i saw it, i instantly fell in love. now, street signs are a joke.)
dad goes through (in? over?) a dip five miles an hour.
dad: i didn't want to go over that bump!
me: so you went five miles an hour? and ps, that isn't a bump, it's definitely a dip!!

(background: there was sap on the car from... not sure what)
the sun hit the windshield just right and it twinkled. i thought it was raining.
me: aw man! it's raining?
dad: that would be called sap
me: oh.

(background: i have an obsession with jesse mccartney. [i don't think my dad knew that.])
dad: this song is by paul mccartney.
me: DOES HE HAVE A SON NAMED JESSE!?!?!
dad: (looks at me like i am a little dumb) .... no.

(background: i think i am part dog because it's natural for me to bark. yep, that is right, i bark. i have a tendency to bark out the window at people. and.. sometimes my dad will let me.)
me: ( i saw two skaters and the dog part of me came out) BARK!!!!
(it scared the kids. my dad and i both laughed)
the light ahead was red.
dad: you know, we're going to stop and they're going to beat you up.
i hurry to roll up the window then i lock the doors to the car. the light turns green and i automatically roll the window back down.
i got a good laugh out of my dad with that one.

this is my ultimate favorite from yesterday:
(background: my dad never gets scared. it's been a goal of mine to scare him.)
there was this house with a little play area under the stairs in the basement. it had a little window and so of course, i hid in it. i could hear my dad was right on the other side of the window and as i saw him walk by, i rushed to stick my hand out the window and i screamed! his reaction was THEE best ever. i have NEVER seen my dad jump so high, even jump. i almost tinkled my pants. i was laughing so hard! after his little jump, he walked off like i had just told him bad news, he didn't think it was too funny. i followed him into the next room (still laughing, let me remind you) and i saw that he was laughing too! i think he just had to get over the scared process. i walk up the stairs laughing and teary eyed too! he turns and says, "i knew you were going to jump out at me, i just didn't know when and where." and i burst out laughing even more. no worries, he was laughing too! we stood in the kitchen and it was quiet till my dad said, "you know? you could've given me a heart attack!!" and once again i start laughing.  "i should've taken a picture of you... you looked like such a cute little kid through that window."

this was my favorite part about yesterday, hands down.

and today included the following memories:
working real hard. that's about it. nothing too big or funny.
oh wait, i know of two things.

one, (background: it is very warm and a girl was in pants and a sweatshirt)
dad: she looks HOT! and... not.. in the sexy way.

and two, we were heading towards a road with construction. a man was holding a sign and he waved his hands in a manner of asking us what way we were going. my dad pointed... instead of using the blinker. dork.

thanks for the memories dad! (:

dear dad, words could never explain how much i love you. you are my dad, my best friend and my hero. i am thankful for you more and more each day. you are amazing and the best example i could have. i love the time we get to spend with each other and every memory made. dad, the sisters and i are the luckiest to have you as our dad. i know that there isn't a better dad, and you're the greatest dad a girl could've asked for. i hope you know that i will always be your little girl. i love you to the moon and back.
love your little girl,
jalissa.
