I LOVE that I am no longer in high school.
Today, I sat in the Sonic drive-thru waiting for my black berry slushy, which I highly recommend. It's a delish cool treat! Seriously. After you read this post, hop down to the closest Sonic and reward yourself. You deserve it! Anyway, a little commercializing for the Sonic.
I pulled up behind a car that was ordering with a teenager standing outside of it ordering her meal. I chuckled. Then, as the people in the car drove up to pick up their food, she struggled along behind them walking how "cool teens do" Then I rolled my eyes. I was trying to understand and put myself in their shoes, sure they are having fun during their lunch break, but you would NEVER have caught me doing dumb stuff like this. I find no humor in it and that's okay. Maybe I am just a boring person but I just sit and think, "They're ridiculous." The poor Sonic boy, luckily not on skates, came out to their window and took all sorts of forms of money. From jingle-jangle change to credit and debit cards to the green paper cash. It was being thrown at him and coming from all different angles. I was so annoyed and angered at these teenagers. I was raised to be polite to everyone and anyone. Even people I didn't like, my mom always told me, "You don't have to be their best friend but at least be their friend." I NEVER disrespected workers or people and if I did, it was not intentional. A different worker came out to my car, super friendly and helped my annoyed attitude, took my card and went back inside. As I sat there, I thought, 'I am going to take a picture and send this to Landon' so I reached up and realized that the boy opening his door got out not to open the girl who "walked through the drive- thru's" door but to open the trunk and pack her in. I took the picture and the boy turned and caught me red handed but I tried to play it cool. He said, "Hey guys, she's trying to take picture! ha! That girl is really trying to take a picture of us!" I was half tempted to yell out my window and say, "No, not trying, I actually got one!" But I didn't I got my card from the super nice Sonic kid and drove away. I was so annoyed by these kids and just so appalled by their actions. I guess I have matured a lot since my high school days, but I really believe that I would not have acted the way this group of kids did. Freaky things happen and what if they got hit? The poor girl in the trunk wouldn't stand a chance.
Anyway, I just am so thankful that I am through that part of life. I hated high school and they reminded me how lucky I am! I know that paying bills and working everyday might not be the best and most fun, but I enjoy what I do and who I work with. I love going home to my handsome fiance (he doesn't live there... well, kind of he just has everything there but doesn't sleep over.. yet. but in 35 days you bet he'll be there all night long! This is all beside the point...) I am thankful that I own my own car and that I don't have to ask mommy and daddy if I can borrow it till my curfew but that I can just get in, drive and get home when I want. I love being an adult, so many people complain about it, but I wouldn't ever want my high school days back. I love my life and I love where the crazy road has taken me! Minus getting caught red handed while taking a creepy picture of some complete strangers... where was Landon when I needed him, he's the best at stalking pictures. Oh well, it's a good laugh now!
So that I am finally finished ranting, head down to Sonic and enjoy a nice cool slushy on such a nice day like today. Hopefully your visit won't be as terrible as mine was. Usually, they are never bad and the customer service is great!

Ha this really did make me want one of those slushys! I'll have to check them out.
I was at my old high school yesterday watching Jake's track meet and I was thinking some of these same thoughts! I have never once missed high school and it's so weird going back!
